Tps6107x equipment provides power solutions for products powered by single battery, double battery, three battery alkaline battery, nickel cadmium battery or nickel hydrogen battery or single battery lithium ion battery or lithium polymer battery. When using single cell alkaline battery, the output current can be up to 75ma and discharged to 0.9 v. It can also be used to generate a 5 V voltage from a 3.3 V rail or lithium-ion battery at 200 ma.
The boost converter is based on a fixed frequency, pulse width modulation (PWM) controller and uses a synchronous rectifier to achieve maximum efficiency. Under low load current, tps61070 and tps61073 enter power saving mode to maintain high efficiency in a wide range of load current. The power saving mode in tps61071 and tps61072 is disabled, forcing the converter to operate at a fixed switching frequency. The maximum peak current in the boost switch is usually limited to 600 ma.
The tps6107x output voltage is programmed by an external resistive voltage divider. The converter can be disabled to minimize battery consumption. During shutdown, the load is completely disconnected from the battery. The device adopts 6-pin SOT23 thin package (DDC).
