Tps55288 is a synchronous four switch dual boost converter, which can adjust the output voltage at, above or below the input voltage. The tps55288 operates on input voltages of more than 2.7V to 36V wide and can output voltages of 0.8V to 22V to support various applications.
The tps55288 integrates two 16 amosfet legs to balance the size and efficiency of the solution. Through I2C interface, tps55288 fully complies with usbpd specification. Tps55288 can provide 100W from 12V input voltage.
Tps55288 adopts average current mode control scheme. The switching frequency can be programmed from 200kHz to 2.2MHz through external resistance, and can be synchronized to the external clock. The tps55288 also provides an optional spread spectrum to minimize peak electromagnetic interference.
Tps55288 provides output overvoltage protection, average inductor current limit, cycle by cycle peak current limit and output short circuit protection. Tps55288 also ensures safe operation under continuous overload conditions protected by optional output current limit and hiccup mode.
Tps55288 can use a small inductor and a small capacitor with high switching frequency. It has 4.0mm × 3.5mmqfn package.
