LTC ® 1285 / ltc1288 is a 3V micro power, 12 bit, continuous approximate sampling audio-visual converter. They usually draw only 160 µ a of supply current during conversion, and automatically power off to a typical supply current of 1NA when they do not perform conversion. They are packaged in an 8-pin so package and operate on a 3V to 6V power supply. These 12 bit, switched capacitor, continuous approximate ADC include samples and preservation. The ltc1285 has a single differential analog input. The ltc1288 provides a software selectable 2-channel MUX.

The on-chip serial port allows data to be effectively transmitted to a wide range of microprocessors and microcontrollers through three wires. This, coupled with low power consumption, makes positioning possible and facilitates the transmission of data through isolation barriers.

These circuits can be used in ratio measurement applications or with external references. High impedance analog input and reduced span (to 1.5V full scale) operating capability allow direct connection to sensors and sensors in many applications, eliminating the need for gain stages.
